Begira Photo Festival

Begira Photo Festival is an international Festival of Contemporary Photography which has been held in Durango (Biscay, Basque Country)since 2011. This year it celebrates its 4th edition.

Boosted by Kinua Argazki Elkartea, Begira Photo Festival contributes to the spreading and recognition of contemporary photographic creation. On this occasion, the mainstays upon which the meeting stands are to exhibit the work of young Basque authors and to introduce to the public different photographers from Africa (Morocco) and South America (Peru).

The festival has an audience of about 3,000 people and an estimated turnout of 50,000- taking into account the expositions and interventions in the public area and the spreading on the internet. This year’s edition is held from June 10th to June 29t. The programming consists of 8 exhibitions, 4 conferences, 2 presentations of photobooks, 2 sessions of photographic projections and 2 workshops, one of them for children.
