Photography, body and vital experience
The conference will be on the intimate relation that arises between the ideas of photography and existence. A relation which, in most of the cases, is not given the degree of prominence and attention it deserves , as photographers are usually more concerned about capturing what happens in the outside world in front of their cameras than about offering us what lies behind them. And our existence has a favourite biological stage: the body. For that reason, the conference aims at defending the idea that photographing a naked body is a determined act of ethic and aesthetic commitment if we take into account everything goes through the body: being in or out of love, affection, illusions, fears, wishes, sensuality, sex, pain, pleasure, moral, life, death, etc. A conference for the audience’s critical stimulation, especially of the new or emerging authors through the photography of the human body and the personal diary, really hot topics in contemporary photography.
